Marilyn Rose Harris Vincent went to be with the Lord Saturday May 27, 2017.
Marilyn was born on July 19, 1929 in Alexandria, LA. She was the only child of Charles O. Harris and wife Eura Scallan Harris. Marilyn graduated from Stratford Hall Prep School in Danville, VA and later attended College of Du Page in Wheaton, IL, Belleville College in Belleville, IL, and LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. She was an accomplished watercolor artist, studied art, enjoyed classical music, and was a dog fancier. While at LSU she met her future husband, Herman Vincent. Mr. Vincent joined the United States Air Force and went around the world twice. She lived with her husband in Germany some years and traveled all over Europe and Asia. She was a very busy Air Force wife and mother to their only daughter, Mary Ann Vincent Treme. She had been a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven since moving to Lake Charles in 1979.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Vincent Treme and husband Mark; two grandchildren, Christopher Treme and wife May, and Annette Treme of Austin, TX.
A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 11AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 5PM to 8PM on Tuesday, May 30. A rosary will be at 6PM on Tuesday. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning 9AM until 11AM.
