Marilyn Jean Ardoin

Marilyn Jean Ardoin, 69, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 8:25 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Ardoin was born April 2, 1944 in Lake Charles, LA, where she was a life-long resident. She was a 1962 graduate of Iowa High School and worked as a secretary for CRC Wireline, Magnolia Life Insurance and Louisiana Companies. She enjoyed playing Pokeno and card games with her friends. Mrs. Ardoin also enjoyed arts and crafts, making candy and cookies, and sewing during her younger years. She had a green thumb, which was evident in her yard and garden. Her passion in life was for her family and she took great pride in her granddaughter. She will always be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife and mother and will be missed dearly. Mrs. Ardoin is survived by her husband of fifty years, James Roderick "Rod" Ardoin of Lake Charles; sons, Kevin Scott Ardoin and wife Lannie of LeBleu Settlement and Randy Craig Ardoin of Lake Charles; mother, Claudia Marion Lee Hoffpauir; sisters, Beverly Jackowick of Hecker, Ollie Marie Mireles and Kathy McCoy, both of Lake Charles; bestfriend, Marie Huckeba; grandchildren, Kyle Grafe and Brooklyn Ardoin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis S. Hoffpauir and brother, Francis Hoffpauir. Her funeral will be at 2:30 PM on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father D.B. Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 AM with a rosary that evening. Visitation will continue on Monday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service. The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Brighten Bridge Hospice and the nurses at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, 2nd floor, for all the support and love given to Mrs. Marilyn.
