Marissa Quarles

Marissa Kay Quarles, 36, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at M.D. Anderson surrounded by her loving family. Marissa was a 2000 graduate of Hamshire-Fannett High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Jarret Quarles and they loved to skip school together. Marissa loved to go crabbing and fishing and working as a teacher’s aide. Marissa’s children and her friends were the highlight of her life. Marissa was also known as a jokester. She loved being a dance mom to McKinley, a baseball mom to Hunter and a swim mom to Kaylee. Marissa was so proud of all three of them.

Marissa is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 16 years, Jarret; her three children, Hunter, McKinley and Kaylee; her mother, Christi Davalos of Hamshire-Fannett, TX; her brother, Joel Higgins of Hamshire-Fannett, TX; sister, Nicole Graham; her in laws, Bill and Marla Saulnier; her brother in law, Justin Quarles; her nanny, Debbie Daigle; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A mass of Christian burial will be held for Marissa on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 2 PM at Immaculate Conception Church in Maplewood with Father Aubrey Guilbeau, M.S. and Father Gijo Ikkaramattom, H.G.N. officiating. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 5-9 PM with a rosary at 6 PM and on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time to leave for the church.
