Marjorie Cart Batchelor

Marjorie Cart Batchelor, 89, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 in a local hospital.

Marjorie was born on June 27, 1922 in Lake Charles, to the parents of Raoul and Addie Cart. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School. Marjorie lived in Sulphur for many years before she and her husband moved to Crossett, Arkansas to care for their son. Mrs. Batchelor was a member of Crossett Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years Robert Jackson Batchelor and her son Raoul Ray Batchelor.

Marjorie is survived by two brothers Henry Cart and his wife Pat and Bert Cart and his wife Bitsy all of Lake Charles, LA, daughter-in-law Barbara Karen Batchelor of Crossett, AR, two granddaughters Latonya Batchelor of Crossett, AR., and Michelle Grigham and husband Kevin of Rogersville, AL, four great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Greg Bath will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday at 9:00 PM until the time of services.
