Marjorie Louise Hebert, 91, of Lake Charles, passed away early Sunday morning, October 20, 2024, at her residence with members of her loving family by her side. A native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Marjorie was born on June 20, 1933, to Ashton and Effie Mae Elmer.
Marjorie loved and embraced all that her Cajun heritage had to offer. She grew up learning how to cook, sew, and how to enjoy the beauty of Louisiana. Marjorie held several jobs during the years but the one that she held dearest was that of homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Archie S. Hebert, Jr. and wife Patty, Ethel Susan Broussard and husband Harold, Collet E. Marks and husband Kenny, Kathy Louise Hebert, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, sons-in-law, Robert Lyles and David Daigle. She will also be missed by her fur babies, Pebbles and Boudreaux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ashton and Effie Mae Elmer, her husband, Archie S. Hebert, Sr., two daughters, Effie Mae Lyles and Mary Ann Daigle.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Visitation will continue Friday, October 25, 2024, beginning at noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00PM, Friday, October 25, 2024, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 3939 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Burial will follow the Mass at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
