Mark Montie

Mark Montie, 63, passed away on April 4, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by family! He was born and raised in Creole, La.  He was a great athlete and played football and is a 1975 graduate of South Cameron High School.

He was a great Christian man who loved teaching and showing the love of Christ to everyone he met.  Christ was of the utmost importance to him.  He loved hunting and fishing, riding horses, spending time with his family and friends, and cooking!

He was always a huge part of his kids lives and then was a huge part of his grandkids lives!!  He was married to the love of his life for 43 years and they had 3 children together and 3 grandchildren!  Austin Guillory 15, Zoey Montie 13, and Randy O’Neal Guillory 12.  Mark was a friend to many and was one of the most gentle, kindest people you would have ever known.  He always had the best advice and was always there to lift you up when you were down, was very positive and always held out hope.  He was quiet but always had a smile on his face and loved to make everyone laugh.  

Mark is survived by his wife, Ellen Montie of 43 years, son, Robbie Montie; daughter, Tanya Montie; his mother, Meredith Montie; his sister, Pam Tidwell and husband Tommy Tidwell; his sister, Phyllis Montie; sister-in-law, Jarine Montie; nephews, Rusty Benson and daughter, Brailynn Benson and Jacob Benson; niece, Cherie Tidwell and great niece Juliette Tidwell.

Mark is preceded in death by his son, John Mark Montie; sister, Stephanie Benson and his dad, John Kenneth Montie.  Mark will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Services will be under the direction of Simple Traditions by Johnson.
