Marla Faye Doise

Marla Faye Doise, 63, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, August 27 in a local hospital.

 

Ms. Doise was born and raised in Lake Charles, and attended Barbe High School.  In her younger years, she was a hotel clerk for Howard Johnson.  Later, she found her "green thumb" while working for Lowes and Greengate Garden Center.  For the last decade, she has spent her time with her two favorite "people"; her dogs, Zoe and Dora (Dee-Dee).

 

She was an avid nature lover and always dreamt of seeing the mountains and visiting her mother's home state of Montana.  She will be remembered for all of her delicious home cooking, her outlandish flower beds, and her obscene obsession with YouTube.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Courtnie Doise Reed and husband Raleigh of Sulphur, LA; one sister, Pam Webb and husband Ryan of Plano, TX; two brothers, Steven Doise and wife Kathy and Ronald Doise, all of Lake Charles; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karmyn Renee' Doise; a sister, Sandra Renee' Doise; and parents, Rene and Juanita Childs Doise.

 

Her daughter has chosen to grand Ms. Doise's wishes, and plans on bringing her mother to rest in the mountains.

 

A memorial service to celebrate Marla's life will be held at a later time for family and friends.
