Marquette Laverne Trumps

Funeral services for Mrs. Marquette L. Trumps, 81, of Sulphur, will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10am in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Mother Patrula will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday, July 23rd from 3pm " 9pm and resume Saturday morning from 8am " until time of service. Visitation will be in Robison Funeral Home. Mrs. Trumps passed away on Wednesday, July 20th in Sulphur surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John B. Trumps, Sr.; son, John B. Trumps, Jr., parents, Bodine & Mary Furlow and step-father, D.L. Doc Thomas. Mrs. Trumps was the owner of several beauty shops after she graduated from Demmons School of Beauty. She had a degree in bookkeeping from Sowela and worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in the area. She loved arts & crafts and had a knack for creating very beautiful treasures. She also loved to cook and took great pride in her family, especially her constant loving companion, her Imperial Shih-Tzu, Daisy Mae. She is survived by 2 sons: Jimmy Foster & wife Reatha, Westlake; Joel Trumps & companion Kristine Marras, Lake Charles; 2 Daughters: Brenda Robinson & husband Al, Sulphur; Mary Rhonda Shelton & companion Dale LeLeaux, Sulphur; 6 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren, Her best friend Theresa Hebert, and her devoted, loving caregiver, Joe Ann Picard. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Heart of Hospice for their care and attention during moms illness. The family asks that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
