Marshall Francis Spicer

October 4, 1939 — August 11, 2022

Marshall Francis Spicer, 82, of Carlyss, passed from this life surrounded by his loving family on Thursday evening, August 11, 2022. In his younger days, Marshall was rated as a First Class Glazier. Upon moving from Mississippi to Hackberry he became one of the first commercial fishermen to crab and shrimp the waters of Cameron Parish. Marshall was an avid woodworker and always had a wood project going on. His favorite hobby was building model boats. Marshall loved his family that included his dog, Bruno. The love of his life was his wife, Ms. Pat.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Patricia “Pat” Spicer; children, Marshall E. Spicer (Becky), Patricia “Diana” Hebert (Michael), David Spicer (Fiancé Michael); siblings, Nell Roper, Chester Spicer (Kay), Debra Kittner (Rodney); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Marshall was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy DeGeer Hession; father, Wiley Spicer; step-mother, Alberta Spicer; son, Douglas Spicer; siblings, Frankie Spicer, Karen Fodrie Spicer; brother-in-law, Robert Roper.

Funeral service for Marshall will be held at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 10 AM, Pastor Chris Guidroz will officiate. Burial will follow at Hackberry Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 5-8 PM, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8 AM until time of service.
