Martha C. Birdsong, 64 of Lake Charles, was called Home on March 17, 2021.

She was born November 16, 1956 in Orange, TX to the late William and Bettie Cole. She attended Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland.

She was a loving and dutiful mother and wife, she enjoyed the simplicity of life. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family. Whether it was a perfect cup of coffee paired with good conversation on her front porch or hitting the road to visit her grandchildren, family was her everything. She was known for her giving and selfless nature, her strong will and the laughter brought on by her humor.

She is welcomed into Heaven by her husband of forty-eight years, Kirk Birdsong; her parents; and a sister, Tammy,

Those left to cherish her memory are; her children, Kristie “Mandie” (Cory) Williamson, Justin (Jennifer) Guimbellot, Joshua Guimbellot, and April Martin; her grandchildren, Kori, Caleb, Cameron, Austin, Kaylee, Mason, Jordan, Brooklyn, and Brilynn; a brother, Larry Cole; a sister Kathy Bruney; a sister in-love, Sabrina “Beanie” Tumlinson; and her beloved pets Jackson, Oliver, and Noah; and numerous extended family.

The family will welcome friends on Monday, March 22, 2021 at University Baptist Church beginning at 1pm til time of service. A celebration of life will begin at 3pm, led by Bro. Steve James under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

The family would like to give special thanks to Amedysis Hospice, Dr. Michael Broussard with LCMH Oncology, STAT Home Health, and Dr. Skoulidis with M. D. Anderson Hospital for their diligent and dutiful care.
