Martha Pyka Corbello, 93, of Ragley died at 9:30 AM Thursday, October 16, 2014 in her residence. Mrs. Corbello was born in Sealy, Texas in March 13, 1921 to the parents of Mary and Charles Pyka. She worked hard most of her adult life. She worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board as a cafeteria worker for over 23 years. Mrs. Corbello loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing with her husband. There was nothing that Mr. Corbello did that Mrs. Corbello didn't learn to do with him. She was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by four daughters; Mary McDonald of Ragley, LA, Barry Anderson Buford and her husband Luke Jr. of Ragley, LA, Carlyn Young of Lake Charles, LA, and Barbara Culp of Huntsville, TX, one sister, Lillie Williams of Houston, TX, five grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, and her care giver, Amanda Dennis. Mrs. Corbello is preceded in death by her husband, John Harley Corbello, one son-in-law, John McDonald Sr., one great grandchild, Marie McDonald, one great-great grandchild, Bayleigh McDonald Holland, nine brothers and sisters; Frank, Joe, Thom, Charles Jr., and John Pyka, Julie, Hattie, Annie and Agnes, her parents, Mary and Charlie Pyka. Her funeral will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will be in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Sunday at 8:00 AM until the time of services.
