Martha Sassy Parker

Martha "Sassy" Kay Crenshaw Parker, 53, of Starks, LA died at 7:35 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2012 in her daughter's residence.

Mrs. Parker was born April 29, 1959 in Orange, TX and has lived in Starks all of her life. She was a 1977 graduate of Starks High School and was raised in the First Pentecostal Church of Starks. She enjoyed gardening and scuba diving and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Sassy is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Sammy Parker of Starks; daughter, Desiree' of Sulphur; mother, Gail Gibson Crenshaw of Starks; brothers, Mark Crenshaw and wife Cookie of Starks and Hank Crenshaw and wife Angie of Baytown, TX; sisters, Mona Dartez and husband Karl of Longville, LA and Sarah Royer and husband Glen of Starks; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Crenshaw.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at First Pentecostal Church of Starks under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Pastors Greg Frazier and Darrell Orange will officiate. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery in Starks, LA. Visitation will be at church on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and continue on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
