Martha Broussard Thomas, 93, of Carlyss passed away on November 16, 2015 in a local care center. Martha was born in New Iberia, LA and lived in the area for 48 years moving from Orange, TX in 1967. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, belonging to the Catholic Daughters, Altar Society and the Knights Auxiliary. Martha was a hairdresser for many years, she enjoyed oil painting, fishing and making people laugh and smile. Martha never met a stranger, and you never left her presence without hearing, "I Love You" or "God Bless You". Martha is survived by her husband of 66 years, Archie Neil Thomas of Carlyss; her three sons, Bryan "Dubbie" Thomas and wife Beverly of Carlyss, Gleason Thomas and wife Donna of Vinton and Ernest Runnels and wife Marion of Orange, TX; her daughter, Marsha Benoit and husband Mike of Orange, TX; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her brother, Claude Broussard and wife Kay of Lumberton, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Damon and Philomena Broussard; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10 A.M. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss with Father Luke Krzanowski, M.S. officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Orange, TX. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 4-9 P.M. with a rosary at 6:30 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday at 8 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home until time of leaving for the church. The family would like to thank Harbor Hospice and their staff for all of their hard work and excellent care.
