Martina Grimshaw

Martina Grimshaw, 83, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.

She was born September 30, 1937 to Alex and Ellen Stephens in Oakdale, LA.

Martina graduated from Oakdale High School in 1955 before attending Louisiana State University where, in 1958, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education.

She was a dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church where she was involved in the Women’s Missionary Union and taught the three-year-old Sunday school class for 20 years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Monya Offill (Don) of Savannah, TX, Armand Grimshaw (Angie), Sean Grimshaw, and Steven Grimshaw, all of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sister, Monya Spirros; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Eddie “Ed” Grimshaw; parents; and two brothers, Bill and Steve Stephens.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church in the North Venue under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Greg Bath will officiate. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church North Venue on Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
