Marty Magnuson

Marty Magnuson, 51, of Lake Charles, LA died at 11:00 AM on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his residence.

Marty was born February 21, 1961 in Kinder, LA, lived a few years in Lafayette, and most of his adult life in Lake Charles. He worked as an electrician all of his life, working many of those years for Pyramid Electric. He was an avid fisherman, who loved animals, music, gardening, and enjoyed woodworking. He will always be remembered for his generosity, caring heart and always putting others first.

Marty is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Lynne Black Magnuson, formerly of Lafayette; mother, Julie Miller and husband Alvin J. of LeBleu Settlement; father, Lewis Magnuson and wife Nell of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Kenny Magnuson and girlfriend Cindy Easttom of Moss Bluff and Danny Cloud of Memphis, TN; sisters, Peggy Ann Turner and husband Glenn of Shawnee, OK, Jeannie Brasseaux and husband "Dubie" and Shari Venable, all of Lafayette, LA; uncle, James Fontenot and wife Ronella of Sulphur; in-laws, J. R. and Bernice Black of Lafayette; and his faithful companions, Maximus "Max" Magnuson and Mia Magnuson.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend George Glass, Jr. will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
