Marty Stevens

Martha “Marty” Nell Fosscett Stevens, 69, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 2:24 AM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Stevens was born March 12, 1951 in Kinder, LA and was a graduate of LaGrange High School.  She began her career in 1988 for the Policy Jury, where she was currently the MIS Specialist.  She attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.  She enjoyed spending time outdoors with her plants and found true joy in spoiling her grandchildren.

Mrs. Stevens is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Larry Stevens of Lake Charles; daughter, Daphne Ellender and husband Toby of Grand Lake; sons, Brian Stevens of Lake Charles and Brandon Stevens and wife Misty of Grand Lake; sisters, Connie Harbin of Shreveport, LA, Neida McCurry and husband Joe of Sulphur, and Judy Cobb and husband Don of Benton, LA; grandchildren, Kenzie Ellender, Kyle Ellender, Halie Johnson and husband John, Tatum Serrette, Kelci Stevens, and Lakynn Stevens; and her beloved dog, Niko.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Alice Fosscett.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at University Baptist Church, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Saturday from 11 AM until the start of the service.
