Marvel L. Sonnier

Marvel (Vidrine) Sonnier, 75, of Lake Charles died on Thursday, August 9, 2012 in her residence with her loving family at her side.

Mrs. Sonnier was born on October 19, 1936 in Basile, LA and has lived in Lake Charles, LA for most of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family cooking and spoiling her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Sonnier donated a lot of her time throughout her life working in her church including food ministry for the needy and prayer ministry.

She is preceded in death by her parents Aniece and Dominic Vidrine, her two brothers, Nilise Vidrine and Harold Vidrine, and her sister, Verda Mae Bordelon.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years Mr. Robert D. Sonnier of Lake Charles, LA, two daughters: Ranelda Benoit and Karen Northcutt and husband Donnie Northcutt all of Moss Bluff, one brother Dwain Vidrine of Gonzales, LA, one sister Jane Riviere of Eunice, LA, and three grandchildren: Andrew Benoit, Amanda Northcutt and Emily Northcutt.

Her funeral will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue at 9:00 AM on Sunday until the time of services.
