Marvin Abraham Nash was born December 28, 1988 to Abraham and Marva L. Watkins Nash. God took him to his eternal home on Sunday, December 21, 2014. Marvin was baptized at the age of six by the late Rev. Cunningham Bobb at Travelers Rest Baptist Church. He continued to worship there under Rev. Bobb and later under Rev. Abbie Monroe Jr. serving as a dedicated usher. In recent years Marvin moved his membership closer to his earthly home and continued to serve his creator at Christian World under the leadership of Pastor Jerry Snider. He also served as an usher at Christian World. On the day of his fatal accident Marvin worshiped at Christian World, left there and went to meet his mother and worshiped with her at Travelers Rest. He was on his way from Travelers Rest to his earthly home when his Almighty Creator deterred him to his eternal home. In his short time on this earth Marvin lived his dream. From the time he was three years old he wanted to be in Law Enforcement. His dream came true. He was employed by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Department as a deputy. He was looking forward to moving to a patrol officer. Marvin enjoyed riding his motorcycle and being with his neighborhood parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Fry and their horses. He enjoyed being with family and friends and had a passion for writing music and entertaining people with his "flows". Marvin attended Washington-Marion High School and was a graduate of Bell City High School. While at Bell City he was a very active member of the 4-H club. He went on to continue his education at Sowela Technical Institute. Marvin was a proud graduate of the Police Academy where he said failure there was never an option. Marvin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, L.C. and Gustavia Nash, maternal grandparents, Robert and Martha Watkins, two uncles, Samuel Nash and Robbie Watkins.
