Mary Ann Daigle

April 17, 1957 — February 26, 2022

Mary Ann Daigle, 64 years old, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at St. Patrick Hospital after a courageous 10-month battle with cancer. She was born on April 17, 1957, to Archie S. Hebert Sr. and Marjorie Elmer Hebert in Lake Charles, LA.

She graduated from Barbe High School in 1976, attended McNeese State University, worked in the banking and accounting industry, and served as general manager of H&H Concrete until her retiring at the birth of her daughter, Clara Ann. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley, LA where she taught catechism and established the youth group, “candle bearers” where her leadership led to their donation of the first statue of Jesus on the church grounds in the growing Catholic community.

She was a faith filled naturalist that saw God in the whole of creation, a real tribute to her Cajun heritage. She worked tirelessly with her husband David in the management of Daigle Farms and their two natural land companies, Wildlands, Inc. and St. Gabriel Resources. She loved natural beauty and loved sharing time with her family and friends in the Longleaf Forest and Calcasieu swamps near her beloved “Red Neck Camp.” Most of all, her heart… all her heart was for her daughter, Clara and her husband, David. They were everything to her. Her family and faith always came first, no matter what.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, David Ryan Daigle; her one and only loving daughter, Clara Ann Daigle, the apple of Mary’s eye; her mother, Margorie Hebert; sister, Sue Broussard (Harold); brother, Archie S. Hebert, Jr. (Patty); sister, Collet Marks (Kenny); and her baby sister, best bud and partner in crime, Kathy Hebert.

She was preceded in death by her father, Archie S. Hebert, Sr. and sister Effie Mae Lyles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, March 4, 2022 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley, LA. The Reverend Jeffery Starkovich will serve as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 4:30 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday morning at the funeral home from 8:30 am until leaving in procession to the church. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the St. Pius X Catholic Church “building fund” located in Ragley, Louisiana.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the family and friends, especially the “Prayer Warriors” of the community for their loving support and prayers.  And a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Yoko Broussard, and to oncologists Dr. Paul Zhang; Aimee Allen, and Dr. Kamrin Shahid; and to all the nurses and staff of Christus St. Patrick healthcare system for their outstanding medical treatment and compassionate care. They are true to their Christus mission of “extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.”
