Mary Cecilia Bee Lyon

February 4, 1933 — January 29, 2013

Mary Cecilia Mayeux Lyon, 79, known to her friends and family as Bee, a native of Alexandria, La. and longtime resident of Lake Charles, La., recently living in Lafayette, La., passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, in a Broussard care facility.


A mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 221 Aqua Drive, Lake Charles, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home at 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles from 10 am until 1:40 pm. She will be laid to rest next to her deceased husband, Andy Lyon, in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette, La.


Mrs. Lyon is survived by her two sons, Mark and his wife Monica of Carencro and Robert Steve and his wife Donna of Lafayette; grand children, Katherine Rene Lyon Leger and her son Dylan Thomas Leger, Keri Nicole Lyon Gillis and her son Cole Lyon Gillis, Christopher James Lyon and his wife Kerry Lyon and their son Hunter James Lyon and their daughter Harper Leigh Lyon, Melissa Carrien Lyon Allen and her husband Casey Aaron Allen and their sons Luke Aaron Allen and Mason Anthony Allen, Sarah Michelle Fogleman Thibodeaux and her husband Lance Anthony Thibodeaux and their son Maddox Anthony Thibodeaux and their daughter Mallory Elizabeth Thibodeaux, Meagan Marie Fogelman, Morgan Elizabeth Fogelman, and James Keller Fogelman and his wife Holly Taylor Fogelman and their daughter Ella Rose Fogleman. Bee is also survived by two sisters, Patrica Mayeux Alberti of Fort Worth, TX and Deanna Mayeux Lemoine Schulaer of Alexandria, LA.


She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Andrew Darnell Lyon, Jr.; parents, Francis Benjamin Mayeux and the former Mary Bernice Catherine Stinson Mayeux.


Bee was employed as a real estate broker for SouthWest Real Estate in Lake Charles for many years. She also owned and operated a clothing shop in Lake Charles named Queens Closet and was a licensed florist and operated The Flower Shop. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.


The family would like to acknowledge the caring staff at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home, who loved and cared for their beloved Bee.
