Mary Elizabeth Davis Edwards

Mary Elizabeth Davis Edwards, 66, of Longville, LA, died at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in her residence.

 

Mrs. Edwards was born August 3, 1949 in Atmore, AL.  She was a 1968 graduate of Escambia County High School, graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later from McNeese State University with her degree in early childhood education.  She served her country in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1980.  Mrs. Edwards lived in Germany and Pennsylvania for a number of years before moving to Longville, LA in 1993, where she resided until January when she moved to Moss Bluff.  She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.  She enjoyed collecting knick knacks and loved her family and grandchildren dearly and also her dog, Rascal.  She was a God fearing woman who was full of love and always gave advice to those she loved.

 

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Charles Francis Edwards; daughter, Annisha Hunt and husband Charles Edward Hunt of Monroe, LA; son, John Ernest Edwards of Cleburne, TX; mother, Elsie Gerald and husband Pete of Atmore, AL; brothers, Carvin Thomas Davis, Jr. of Birmingham, AL and John Davis of Robertsdale, AL; sister, Elsie Tillery and husband Buddy of Foley, AL; and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Connor, and Jordan Hunt.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Carvin Thomas Davis, Sr.

 

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Deacon Leo Hebert will officiate.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service with a rosary at 12:00 PM.  Burial will be in Mothershed Cemetery in Atmore, LA on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM.
