Mary Ellen Jones

Mary Ellen Murphy Jones, 52, of Gillis, LA died at 1:15 AM on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in a local hospital. Ms. Jones was born June 22, 1962 in Dermotte, AR and has lived in the Lake Charles area since 2000. She was a graduate of Hampton High School in Arkansas and served her country in the U.S. Army. She earned her nursing degree and worked at Heaven on Earth. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gillis. Mary was a loving mother and will always be remembered for her kind, giving spirit. She touched many hearts throughout her life and will be missed dearly. Ms. Jones is survived by her son, Joseph Murphy of Hampton, AR; two daughters, Daniella Jones of Lake Charles and Gabrielle Jones of Huntsville, TX; parents, Frances and Richard Murphy of Hampton, AR; husband, Randall McGilton of Gillis brother, Richard Lee Murphy of Tyler, TX; and sister, Dianne Hallisey of Yelm, WA. Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Gillis. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
