Mary Faye Misner, 83, of Lake Charles, Louisiana died at 6:06 AM Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Misner was born on July 18, 1930 in Marksville. Louisiana to the parents of Athlie and August Bordelon. She was a 1947 graduate of Marksville High School. She worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board for Barbe Elementary as a Special Education Teacher for over 31 years. Mrs. Misner has won a special award at the school the Teachers Aid of the year award. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, and gardening. She is survived by one daughter, Marsha Misner of Lake Charles, LA, two grandchildren, Erin Misner and husband Stewart Dartez of Moss Bluff, LA, and Megan Misner of Kirkwood, NY, one sister Helen Dupuy of Marksville, LA, one niece, Deidra Brouillettte, two nephews, David Dupuy of Marksville, LA, and Dr. Mike and Laurie Kent of Shreveport, LA and her special cat, Scooter. Mrs. Misner is preceded in death by her husband James F. Misner, one son, James Terry Misner. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Visitation will begin on Friday at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary to be held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday at 8:00 AM until the time of services.
