Mary Fontenot

Mary May Brown Fontenot, 70, of Lake Charles, LA died at 9:20 AM on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Fontenot was born July 11, 1942 in Opelousas, LA and graduated from Grand Prairie High School. She has lived in Lake Charles for the past forty-five years and was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. Mrs. Fontenot worked at various car dealerships for over thirty years, most recently at Don Shelter Ford and Tarver Ford, where she worked as the office manager and bookkeeper. She enjoyed traveling and loved to cook for her family and friends.

Mrs. Fontenot is survived by her husband, Joseph Fontenot; son, Michael Todd Fontenot and wife Kari; daughter, Cherie Webb and husband Kip; brother, Joseph Voorhies Brown and wife Norma; sister, Dorothy Guillory; grandchildren, Kaylee and Kale Webb and Tate and Emma Fontenot; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierre and Olivia Brown; sister, Lou Helen Brown; and brother, Louis Allen Brown.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Scott Conner will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday at the funeral home from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
