Mary Frances Murray

Mary Frances Stewart Murray, 85, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Murray was born and raised in Tyler, TX and was a Valedictorian graduate of Tyler High School. She has lived nearly fifty years in Lake Charles. She, along with her husband owned and operated United Furniture for fifty years. She was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene. She was a gifted decorator and entertainer, having loved decorating and hostessing the church events, banquets, holidays and weddings. She especially loved decorating for Christmas as she decorated a tree in every room of her home.

Mrs. Murray will be most remembered for devoting her time outside of her family and business to her church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Glenna Sollenberger and husband Marty of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Jewel LaFleur of Lake Charles and Paul Sollenberger of Dallas, TX; one sister, Jessie Ruth Davis of Houston, TX and one brother, Chester Frank Stewart and wife Patsy of Tyler, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Murray and daughter, Paulette LaFleur.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Lake Charles First Church of the Nazarene. Reverend Sherrill Stiles will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Sunday will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service in the church.
