Mary Fruge Mosca

Mary Irona Fruge Mosca, 85, was called to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

Born in Washington, Lousiana to Darbez and Emily Phillips Fruge, Mrs. Mosca moved to Lake Charles at the age of twelve. She graduated from LaGrange Senior High School in 1947. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Her family was her life, and she took great joy in caring for them. She also enjoyed painting.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Vincent Lee Mosca, Paula Gillard and husband Karl and Emelie Gary and husband Brad, all of Lake Charles; two brothers, A.J. Fruge of San Diego, California and Billy Stephens of Conroe, Texas; five grandchildren, Louis Vigo, Carli Suratt, Cole McCallon, Justin Gary and Rachael Gary; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Louis Mosca.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday July 18, 2016 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Msgr. Danny Torres will officiate. Interment will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m.

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved mother to the wonderful doctors and staff of Harbor Hospice.
