Mary Gauthreaux

Mary Elwanda Gauthreaux, 79, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 12:07 AM.  Mary was a native of New Orleans and lived most of her life in the Sulphur/Lake Charles area.  After retiring from the nursing industry she worked in the food service industry for many years. 

Mary is survived by her four sons, Dale Gauthreaux and wife Edie, Toogie Nugent and wife Joey, Jeff Gauthreaux, and Bart Gauthreaux and wife Paula; two daughters, Terri Brown and husband Pete and Margaret Simmons and husband Jay; daughter in law, Linda Gauthreaux; one sister, Nobia Griffin; 21 grandchildren; and 39 great grandchildren.  Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Lou Gauthreaux; one son, Kevin Gauthreaux; mother, Armenia Whitehead, father, BP Lafitte; and sister, Emily Boudreaux. 

Services for Mary will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.  The family will receive friends on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 2-9 pm at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a rosary at 6 PM.
