Mary Helen Poulter, 90, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Poulter was born in Broken Arrow, OK and has lived the past sixty-four years in Lake Charles. She enjoyed reading, needle point and traveling with her four sisters. She has been a member of Trinity Baptist for sixty-three years where she taught three year old Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of Witness Ruth Sunday school Class and Chapter A D of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Mrs. Poulter will be most remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, caregiver and nurturer.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Dale Poulter and wife Susan of Park City, UT; one daughter, Linda Poulter Venable of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Mary Christa Smith and husband Sean of Woodland, UT and Greg Poulter and wife Brenda of Breckenridge, CO; four great-grandchildren, Marley and Griffin Smith and Dominic and Sophia Poulter and one sister, Betty Jean Todd of Mansfield, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Erwin Poulter; her parents, Ben and Harriet Burnett Augenstein; two brothers, Glenn and Jack Augenstein and two sisters, Marie Tatum and Margaret Glass.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend Steve James will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Tuesday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the funeral home. Visitation Wednesday will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the church.
