Mary Isabell Hale

Isabell "Bell" Hale, 86, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Hale was a member of Topsy Pentecostal Church for many years. Her involvement in church and caring for her large family were the most important activities in her life. In addition to raising ten children, she also cared for many foster children. All who knew her will remember her love of preparing large family meals. Her large breakfasts, with homemade biscuits, were her specialty. Mrs. Hale also worked as a nurse in the Lake Charles community for over 15 years.

Mrs. Hale is survived by nine children, Sherry Duhon, Linda Outon and husband Paul, Elwood Flaherty and wife Edna, Katie Chapman and husband Tom, Nancy Veillion and husband Paul, Rachel Ebarb and husband Daniel, Patrick Hale and wife Rachel, Melissa Landreneau and husband Danny, and Michael Hale; fourteen grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; two sisters, Sophie Edwards and Lois Luckett.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Edwin Flaherty, and her second husband Joe Pat Hale, and her son Steve Flaherty.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday until the time of service.
