Mary Judy Foreman Detwiler

Mary Judy Foreman Detwiler, 75, of Lake Charles, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018.

Judy was born in Lake Charles to John E. and Doveda (Hoffpauir) Foreman. She graduated from LaGrange High School in 1960 before marrying the love of her life, Msgt. Robert W. “Bob” Detwiler. The happy couple lived all over the country during Bob’s Air Force career and had many grand adventures before returning to Louisiana for good. Judy was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed baking, crocheting and reading, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cindy Detwiler of Lake Charles, and Michelle Griffin (Ron) of Aurora, Illinois; brother John A. Foreman and sister Billie Fults (Gus) of Lake Charles; grandchildren Gina Dillman (Amos) and Brittany Griffin of Illinois, and Kurtis Griffin of Arkansas; one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Bob Detwiler; her parents; brother Gerald L. Foreman and sisters Loraine LeDoux, Barbara Tringali, and Shelby Benoit, all of Lake Charles, Betty Pugh of Gretna, and nephews James Foreman and Terry Benoit.
