Mary Kathryn Murray Cusher

Mary Kathryn Murray Cusher, 79 of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 in the comfort of her home. Mrs. Cusher was born in Blackwell, OK and has lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a 1952 graduate of Sulphur High School and 1958 graduate of McNeese State University. She worked nearly forty years as a Registered Nurse, primarily at St. Patrick's Hospital and Charter Hospital of Lake Charles. Mrs. Cusher enjoyed her journey as a nurse, spending time with her family and eating her Grandson's cooking. She will be remembered for her love of pets. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Therese Marie Taylor and fiancé Mike Shetley of Sulphur; grandson, Keith Lopez and fiancé Gina Mueller of Lake Charles; great-granddaughter, Emily Lopez of Moss Bluff and numerous cousins, including the Hubers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jefferson and Lucille Warren Murray and her husband, Daniel Cusher. The family of Mrs. Cusher wishes to extend sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Christus Home Health. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Ruben Buller will officiate. A gathering of family friends Wednesday will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM with a Cursillo rosary beginning at 12:00 PM.
