Mary Lois Doucet Dupree, 81, of Lake Charles died at 12:34 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2013 in a local care facility.
Mrs. Dupree was born on November 23, 1931 in Egan, LA and lived in Lake Charles for approximately 60 years. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where she was a Eucharistic Lay Minister and belonged to Our Lady of the Lake Court #695.
She had a passion for reading and putting together puzzles. In her younger years she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Mrs. Dupree was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 69 years, Cherris CJ Dupree of Lake Charles; four daughters, Mary Linda Borck of Hudson MI, Loretta Ann Leger and husband Rodney of Lake Charles, Anna Gail Allen and husband Michael of Lake Charles, and Betty Jean Rowe and husband Robert of Jacksonville, FL; son-in-law, Jimmy Earl Williams; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felidie and Joseph Doucet; a daughter, Ellen Joyce Williams; a sister, Evelizer Brigham; and a son-in-law, James Henry Borck.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The Rev. Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
