Mary Lou Broussard

Mary Lou Babineaux Broussard, 77, of Welsh, LA, died at 2:05 PM on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in a local care facility. Mrs. Broussard was born June 16, 1936 in Mowata, LA and was of the Catholic faith. She worked at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, where she retired and moved to Welsh. She loved to cook and loved being surrounded by her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cynthia Boone Boudreaux; granddaughter, Anne Brown Reeves of Lake Charles; and two great-grandchildren, Gillian Reeves and Alexander Reeves, all of Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Elda Richard of Crowley, Ella Hale of San Antonio, TX, and Amy Sonnier of Welsh, LA; brother, Sidney Babineaux of Basile, LA; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Paul Broussard; brother, Jeffery Babineaux; sister, Loreta Godeaux; and parents, Sidney Babineaux and Annie Sonnier Babineaux. As per her request, Mrs. Broussard was cremated. A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Christus St. Patrick Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion that they received.
