Mary Lou Delino, 85, of Lake Charles died at 12:55 PM on Sunday, April 8, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Delino was born on October 3, 1926 in Lake Charles, LA where she lived most of her life. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School and attended Southeastern University in Oklahoma. Mrs. Delino retired as a lab supervisor from Cities Service.

At one time, Mrs. Delino served as the Associate Director for AARP for the state. Mrs. Delino was named Treasurer of SWLA Senior Games where she belonged to a bean bag team, winning first place this year. She also acted as Vice President for the TRIAD program as well as volunteered for the RSVP and the SALT program.

She was an active member of the Westlake Church of the Nazarene and most currently of the First United Methodist Church in Lake Charles.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Betty Spradling and husband Leroy of Sherman, TX; nieces, Cindy Vess of Sherman, TX, Sherry Burk and husband of Greenville, TX, and Madeleine Delino of Henry, LA; and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cephus Delino; her parents, Douglas and Ida Bartee; and a sister, Joyce Elaine Lucky.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Weldon Bares, Rev. Louis Blankenbaker, and Rev. Henry Bowdon will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the services.
