Mary Louise Maddox Dee Hanagriff Courville, 76, of Lake Charles passed away and entered the gates of heaven at 3:40 AM Monday, September 2, 2013.
Mrs. Courville was born on April 8, 1937 to Rosa Crysel and Charles David Maddox in Bunkie, Louisiana. She has lived in Lake Charles since 1957. Mary was a graduate of Bunkie High School. Mary worked for the State of Louisiana as a Clerk for over 27 years. She retired from the Calcasieu Parish Health Unit in 1996. She was a member of Sale St. Baptist Church in Lake Charles.
She is survived by her husband of five years, Donald Courville of Lake Charles, LA, one son, Richard Hanagriff and his wife Lori of Katy, TX, two daughters, Kay Lynn Hanagriff of Lake Charles, LA and Charlene Poole of Houston, TX, two step daughters, Rhonda Woods and Terri Jo Ponder, one brother, Ronnie Maddox and wife Brenda of Lake Charles, LA, two sisters, Joan Wood of Lake Charles, LA, Alice Thibodeaux of Liberty, TX, three grandchildren, Abigail Lynn Frick, Katherine Anne Yanez and Alexa Marilyn Yanez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Courville is preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Charles Maddox, one son, Samuel Newman Poole III, four brothers Buzz Maddox, Earl Maddox, Adrian Maddox and Willie Maddox, one sister Wanda Gary, and previous husband, Almon Louis Hanagriff.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Thursday at 8:00 AM until the time of services.
The family would also like to thank Dee's niece, Rickey Mouton Hines for her time and compassionate care towards her aunt and the thoughts and prayers of other family and friends during her time of need.
