Mary Lynn Wiley, of Sulphur, LA, died peacefully in her home, at the age of 79 on Thursday May 19, 2016.
Mary Lynn was born on November 8, 1936 in Merryville, LA to Mancel Conley and Carrie Ruth Meadows.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an associate professor at McNeese State University for 25 years and was a nurse for Evergreen Life Services for 30 years. Mary Lynn pioneered the way for psychiatric services for people with mental illness across the state of Louisiana and was instrumental in the accreditation of the McNeese State University School of Nursing. Most importantly, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Leo Wiley; parents and brother, John Landis Conley.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memories are 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Eliska and Ronny Wagnon, Michelle and David Parsons, and Teren and Alan Pruitt; son, Todd and Michelle Wiley; 11 grandchildren, Jared (Amanda) Wagnon, Conley (James) Williams, Kaitlyn Skinner, Cole Wagnon, Alexander Parsons, Nicholas Parsons, Christian Parsons, Eliska Pruitt, Madison Croxdale, Gage Wiley and Hayden Wiley; 5 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 PM on Monday May 23, 2016 at St. Michael of All Angels with Father Peter Cook officiating. Interment to follow in Consolata Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin on Sunday from 2 PM till 6 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and on Monday from 11 AM till time of service at St. Michael of All Angels.
