Mary Marjorie Stinson

Mary Marjorie Whitman Stinson, 75, of Moss Bluff, LA died at 6:30 PM on Wednesday August 31, 2011 in a local hospital.

Ms. Stinson was born March 29, 1936 to W. C. Whitman and Lillian Barbin Whitman, and was raised in Marksville, LA . She was a 1954 graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and attended McNeese State University. She attended St. Margaret Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.

Ms. Stinson is survived by her children, Douglas Stinson of LeBleu Settlement, Donna M. Reed and husband Darrin of Moss Bluff, Dorothy Jones of Moss Bluff, Drew Stinson of Lake Charles, Darin Stinson of Lake Charles, and Dawn Thibodeaux and husband Danny of Pearland, TX; sister, Gretchen Bonnin of Welsh, LA; brother, Charles Whitman of Lake Charles; and grandchildren, Kristi Summers, Christopher Summers, Amber Summers, Charlie Jones, Jr., Aimee Jones, Austin Thibodeaux, Cameron Thibodeaux, Zachary Thibodeaux, Holly Ardoin, Michael Stinson, Patrick Stinson, and Ashley Stinson; along with a host of great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald Whitman.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30 AM until the start of the service.
