Mary Mcpherson Berryhill

February 2, 1955 — June 30, 2022

Mary McPherson Berryhill, 67 years old, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022.  She was born on February 2, 1955 to Percy V. and Mary Murphy McPherson in Aruba, Netherlands Antilles.

Mary grew up in Westlake, LA.  She graduated from Westlake High School, and then McNeese State University in 1976.  She began her forty-year working career in Beaumont, TX with Gulf States Utilities as a Computer Programmer.  She retired in 2016 from Citgo as Systems Analyst after eighteen years of service there.

She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church and her Sunday Morning Bible Study group.  Mary lived her life in service to the Lord.  She was a kind, loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Her family was her greatest joy.  She loved and adored them, and always put them first.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of forty-five years, Roddy Berryhill; her two sons, Christopher R. Berryhill (Lexi) and Brandon R. Berryhill (Hannah); her sister, Beth McPherson Mann (Charles); and four grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church, located at 1800 Country Club Road, Lake Charles, LA 70605.  Rev. Steve James will officiate.  Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.  Visitation on Sunday will be at the church from 9:30 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, or Trinity Baptist Church Missions Ministry.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, MD Anderson, and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care.
