Mary Mozelle Harvey

Mary Mozelle Welch Harvey, 93, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 10:03 AM on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Harvey was born June 15, 1923 in Oakdale, LA and lived in the Lake Charles area for most of her life.  During the 1940’s she worked at Hickman’s Pure Food and later worked as a dental assistant for Dr. John DiGiglia, Sr.  She was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church and was attending Faith Bible Church.  Mrs. Harvey enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved reading her Bible and playing dominoes.

Mrs. Harvey is survived by her granddaughter, Christy Ellis and husband Bobby of Snyder, TX; great-grandson, Jeffrey Ellis of Snyder, TX; nieces and nephews, Larry Martin and wife Adrienne of Ragley, LA, Kenneth Welch and wife Kathy of Lake Charles, Howard Welch and wife Betty of Moss Bluff, Gordan Fullington and wife Gen of Moss Bluff, Barry Fullington of Sulphur, Lloyd Hennigan and wife Pat of Jena, LA, Jimmy Evans and wife Jean of Lake Charles, and Nancy Fuselier.; along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years, Russell V. Harvey; son, Michael Ray Harvey; parents, Evie Lina Johnston and Anderson Joseph Welch; and siblings, Robert Welch, Beuford Welch, Beulah Martin, Nova Evans, Gertrude Hennigan, and Beatrice Fullington.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Reverend Dr. Bart Leger will officiate.  Burial will follow in Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
