Mary Pelafigue Crader

Funeral Services for Mary Pelafigue Crader, 90, will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, 23rd of February, 2012 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Father John Huckaby will officiate. Committal services will follow at Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Wednesday, February 22, 2012 will be from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a scripture service and rosary beginning at 6:15 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8:00 AM until 12:45 PM in the funeral home.


Pallbearers for her service will be her sons-in-law and her daughter-in-law.


Mrs. Crader of Lake Charles, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. She was born on April 13, 1921 in Scott, Louisiana to Joseph and Alice Domec Pelafique.


She was a graduate of LaGrange High School and married the love of her life, Pierre Crader on June 22, 1939. Mary retired from St. Patrick's Hospital where she worked as an EKG Technician.


All who knew her were aware of her love of family trips to Florida, girls' weekends at the Teal Prairie Hunting Lodge and the frequent bourre' games.


Mrs. Crader was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.


Her parents, husband and siblings preceded her in death.


She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her wonderful memory. One son, Wayne Crader and wife Nancy of Lake Charles, five daughters, Sherill Myers and husband James of Lake Charles, Diana Olivier and husband Fred of Lafayette, Wendy Roberts and husband Jerry of Lake Charles, Sally Robbins and husband Carter of Lake Charles, and Cindy Hunt and husband Glen of Hot Springs, Arkansas, nineteen grandchildren, Darlene Bleker, Tina McVicker, Keith Myers, Tammy McDonald, Melanie Crader, Brett Crader, Bart Crader, Cory Crader, Joe Olivier, Debbie Cormier, Tony Olivier, Maria Mayeau, Alicia Boudreaux, J. W. Roberts, William Robbins, Courtney Childs, Liz Ruff, Lucie Hunt and Lori McIntosh, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and her faithful pet Taco.


The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Michael Turner and Anna Landry, P.A., the staff of Villa Maria Retirement Center, Tennalle Handy of DeQuincy Home Health Agency and her caregivers, Judy Pierrottie and Pat Monceaux.
