Mary Louise Pickett, 85, of Gum Cove, LA went on to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. Mary was born in Crowley, LA on June 11, 1929 to Albert and Odelia Little. Mrs. Mary enjoyed cooking, canning figs, and being around family. She was a very dedicated friend to many in the community. She was a lifelong resident of Gum Cove. She was a woman of collected wisdom and strength, surviving the era of the Great Depression. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years James H. Pickett Sr. of Gum Cove, LA; one son, James H. Pickett Jr. and wife Linda of Gum Cove, LA; one daughter, Sandra Louise Kline and husband Letch of Gulfport, Mississippi; one sister, Dorothy Lee Theriot of Grand Lake, LA; five grandchildren, Page and Ashley Pickett of Pecos, TX , Pike and Jessica Pickett of Sulphur, LA, Crystal Kline Vitek and Gabraham of Nashville, TN, Heather Kline of Gulfport, MS., and Garrett Kline Birmingham, AL; and one great grandchild, Cayden Jack Pickett. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clarence Little and A.J. Little. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A gathering of friends and family are being accepted Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 3:00 PM - until, at Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church in Vinton, LA. Special appreciation and gratefulness to Dr. Arian Haxhillari, Emergency Room Nurses, and 2nd floor of West Calcasieu Camreon Hospital, with exceptional appreciation to Chante Clark and Charolette Ellender. Also a special thanks to High Hope Nursing Facility. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church in Vinton, LA.
