Mary Louise Priola Roupp, 73, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 in Foley, AL.
Mary was born in Corpus Christi, TX and grew up in the Lake Charles/Moss Bluff LA area. She spent most of her adult life in Houston, TX, Fresno CA, and Davis CA before returning to Lake Charles in 2006 to be near her family. She was a 1966 graduate of Sam Houston High School. Mary worked most of her life in Administrative Property and Retail Management. During her stay in Houston, she managed multiple apartment complexes and in California she managed a yogurt shop, an optical store, and a restaurant. She was a member of The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge.
Mary was a caring loving person as a sister, aunt cousin and friend and will be remembered for her giving heart, beautiful smile and joyful laugh. She was a mother to two beautiful children, Michael, and Kathryn who she loved with all her heart.
Following Hurricane Laura, Mary moved to Foley, Alabama and in that short time had already made many friends in her community and established a home church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Michael George Roupp of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Tommy Mitchell Priola (Yvonne) of Many, LA and Nickey Priola, Jr. (Carmen) of Orange Beach, AL; nephews Joshua Priola (Melissa) of Prairieville, LA and Seth Priola (Marli) of Lake Charles, LA and niece Jodi Priola Harlow (Keith) of Moss Bluff, LA; cousins (some of which were raised as children of her own), Cindy Priola Barkley (Bruce) of CA, Mary Lea Priola Shelton (Tom) of CA, Mitchell “Bubba” Priola of MS, Glenn Priola (Jill) of Lake Charles, Jeff Priola (Miranda) of Iowa, Scott Priola (Karen) of Lacassine and Todd Priola (Vicky) of Iowa and dear friend and caregiver, Nadine of Sulphur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nickey Priola, Sr. and Evie Lea Fancher Priola; daughter, Kathryn Leah Roupp and niece, Lori Priola Reding.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
In accordance with state regulations, attendees for services are respectfully requested to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at st.jude.org.
