Mary Sadie Richard, 82, of Lake Charles, LA died at 5:57 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2013 in a local care facility. Mrs. Richard was born June 3, 1931 in Mowata, LA and has lived in Lake Charles since 1952. She worked at the Fair Store and Mullers and over twenty years at the American Department Store / Anthony's. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, and was a Catholic Daughter and a member of the Carmelites. She was an Evangelist, a Lay Minister, and a devoted prayer warrior. She will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She was a great wife, wonderful mother and always enjoyed cooking for others. Mrs. Richard is survived by her daughters, Sharlotte Guidry and husband Dean of Houma, LA and Grace Cryer of Moss Bluff; son, Marshall Richard and wife Libby of Lake Charles; sister, Merline Morvant of Sulphur, LA; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis Richard, Jr.; parents, Joseph and Amanda Courville Thibodeaux; one brother; and four sisters. Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Glenn Viau will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Mowata, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service with a rosary at 12:30 PM. Donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.
