Mary Sandra Howard

Mary "Sandra" Howard, 60, died Friday, August 10, 2012, in a local care facility, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.Born in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Huey Theo and Margaret Elizabeth Harris Howard, Ms. Howard was devoted to her family and friends. She was quick witted and a force of nature who will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Those left to honor her memory are one daughter, Shonna Bihm Settlemyer and husband Fountain "Ellis" Settlemyer, III; one son, Steven Talbert and wife Cindy Reeves Talbert, all of Lake Charles; four wonderful grandchildren, Julia Ellise Settlemyer, Kyndal Bree Talbert, Tyler Bruce Talbert and Griffin Slade Simon. Ms. Howard was also survived by many loving friends, including her lifelong friends, Dee and Richard Guillory.She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Bobbie Jean Mitchell and Inez Eleanor Smith.Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2012 at First United Methodist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Weldon Bares will officiate. Following the services there will be a private release of her ashes.
