Matthew Kelley Barremore

Matthew Kelley Barremore, 88, of Lake Charles, La died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at a local care facility. Mr. Barremore was born on February 12, 1926 in Lake Charles, La to Theodore and Marie Barremore. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, La. He was a graduate of Landry High School. He also attained two Mortuary Science Degrees from Landig College in 1947. He worked as an operator at CITGO for 30 years. Mr. Barremore served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of University Methodist Church. Mr. Barremore enjoyed fishing and sailing. He is survived by one son, Michael Kelley Barremore and wife Janet of Lake Charles, La; two daughters, Susan Lee Holston and husband John of Lake Charles, La and Becky Lynne Barremore of Colorado; one grandchild, Kelley Michael of Gretna ,La; and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and the mother of his children, Eileen Robertson Barremore; his second wife, Peggy Sullivan Barremore; two brothers, Harold Barremore and Theo Barremore; and one sister, Chi Chi Marie Thomas. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate.
