Matthew Todd Mitchell

Matthew Todd Mitchell, 50, left to be with his Lord on December 27, 2022.  He was born to John Mason Mitchell and Linda Sewell Mitchell in Newark, Ohio on March 12, 1972.  Matthew graduated from Sulphur High School and served in the United States Marine Corp from 1993-1997.  During his short life he explored many professions, deputy sheriff, welding, pipefitter, hydro blaster, security guard, mill wright and plumbing.  Mathew enjoyed life, family, friends, and even working.  He enjoyed cooking, eating, singing, being with friends and family, and watching football games, especially Ohio State and Chicago Bears.  He enjoyed going to the movies with his friends and reading was his passion. 

Matthew is survived by his parents, John and Linda Mitchell, his Aunt Faye Riley in North Carolina, Uncle Brent and Aunt Jennifer in Ohio, and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Rose Mitchell as well as Oliver and Jenny Sewell, his Aunt Karen Mitchell, and his Uncle David Riley.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 AM, Sunday, March 12, 2023 at The Gathering, 1300 Hwy 90, Sulphur, La. Pastor Casey will officiate.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.

Donations may be made in Matthew’s name to LA Heart of Hospice.
