Maudell Langley

February 7, 1935 — January 1, 2022

Maudell Langley was born on February 7, 1935 to Dexter and Doris Sargent. She passed into glory on January 1, 2022, surrounded by her beloved family. She was a graduate of Marion High School and Faith Bible Institute, and was a long-time member of Friendship Baptist Church of Lake Charles.

Maudell enjoyed hosting widows’ dinners in her home every month. She also spent many of her days hand-crafting gifts for each member of her family and church family. She loved her family and friends dearly, and opened her home to them anytime possible. She personified the statement, “there’s always room for one more.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry Langley Sr.; daughter Belinda Johnson; son Dwight Langley; stepsons Donald & Raymond Langley; great grandson Caden Mortenson; and brothers Lloyd Sargent, Melvin Sargent, and Jimmy Sargent.

She is survived by sons Alan and Harry Langley, daughters Cheryl Lafleur, Evonne Guillory (Sherman), Willette Huffman (Dean), and Deanna Wing (Tommy), stepson Kenny Langley (Wanola), sister Margie Roach, and soul sister Beulah Yokum. Her legacy will live on through twenty-three grandchildren: Samantha, Christian, Summer, Phillip, Sarah, Christopher, Katey, Emily, Amber, Josh, Alexis, Austin, Adam, Alivia, Lakeyn, Kilieyn, Casidhe, Dakota, McKaughly, Dean, Mercedes, Kalleigh, and Bailey, as well as through twenty-eight great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; two sister in-laws, Bea Sargent and Irma Hess

The family will welcome friends Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Friendship Baptist Church beginning at beginning at 3pm to 9pm. Visitation will resume Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 10am to time of service. A funeral, led by Reverend Nathan Nazworth and  Reverend Jerry Parmentier will begin at 1:30 with burial to follow at Prien Memorial Park.
