Maxine Brown Chauffe

December 16, 1934 — April 30, 2019

Maxine Eloise Chauffe, 84, formerly of Lake Charles, passed away on Tuesday April 30, 2019 in Houston, TX after an extended illness.

Maxine was born in Glenmora and was long-time resident of Lake Charles. She was a 1953 graduate of LaGrange High School, worked as a secretary for Brown and Root, and retired after 18 years of service at the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court Office. Maxine was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church and enjoyed painting and gardening.

Preceding Maxine in death are her parents, George Ezra and Pauline Brannon Martin; sons, Dan R. Brown and Jerry D. Brown. She leaves to cherish and honor her memory two sons, Warren Brown and wife Mary, Temple, TX and Michael James Brown, Katy, TX; daughter, Julie Sitton, Houston, TX; four grandsons, Norman Savant, Jonathan Brown, Justin Holman and Jordan Holman.

Visitation will be Saturday May 4, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and will continue Sunday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park.
