May Guillory

May Guillory, 89, of Lake Charles, quietly slipped into eternal rest on Friday December 5, 2014. May was born in New Orleans and was raised in Eunice. She made her life in Lake Charles with the love of her life, Ashton George Guillory. She had a green thumb with most every plant she came into contact with, and had a true love for nature and the outdoors. May was very active in retirement and enjoyed playing Pokeno and bingo. She was a homemaker who enjoyed hosting others and was of the Catholic faith. May was preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents, Elmer Joseph and Vera Bayhi Reed; and sisters, Iris Reed Regan and Joy Reed Guillory. She is survived by her son, Michael Gary Guillory and wife Paula, Galveston, TX; granddaughter, Giulia Christine Luca and husband James, Houston, TX; great grandson, Joseph Henryk Luca, Houston, Texas; brothers, Elroy "Sonny" Reed, Lake Charles and Ronnie Reed of San Marcos, CA, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Our lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with Father Aubrey Guilbeau serving as celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Highland Memory Gardens.
