Megan Ryan McInnis, 40 of Sulphur, LA passed away, February 17, 2025.
She was born July 1, 1984 in Lake Charles, LA to Charles Pinder and Deborah Tanous.
She was a graduate of Sam Houston High School, where she was a member of the band, and graduating class of 2002. Following high school, she enrolled at McNeese State University, majoring in Early Childhood Education, ultimately dedicating her career to shaping young minds.
Megan was the devoted mother to her sons, Jacob McInnis II and Jonathan McInnis, who were the center of her world. She embraced motherhood with joy, often seen cooking and baking with her boys, engaging them in lively jam sessions during car rides, and ever encouraging their dreams with a positive outlook. She was the biggest supporter of her beloved "CBA Sticks", known for her spirited presence heard from the stands. Her love for her children embodied her commitment to nurturing and uplifting those around her. Beyond her sons, her love for family and friends was unwavering and willing to help any in need.
She was an extraordinary educator at Maplewood Elementary School, she was loved for her unwavering commitment, boundless joy and unmatched ability to turn even the greatest challenges into victories. A character trait loved by both students and peers.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Connell Pinder, Evelyn Pinder, and a brother, Jonathon Tanous.
Megan is survived by her sons, Jacob McInnis II and Jonathan McInnis; mother, Deborah Tanous and husband Dick; father, Charles Pinder; sister, Angela Tanous; brothers, Damon Tanous and wife Shelley, and Gerad Hyatt and wife Kayla; grandparents, Raymond & Mary Spears; uncles, David Spears & wife Rachel and Darwin Pinder & wife Patty; aunts Nellwyn Royer & husband Larry and Aleta Benoit & husband Tommy, and Colleen Pinder; Nieces and nephews, Kendall & Keegan Duhon and Andrew & Claire Tanous; her very close friend Jacy Andres; father to her sons, Jacob McInnis; along with her fellow SBA Stick team; extended family and friends who loved her.
Family to welcome friends in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, Monday, February 24, 2025 beginning 1pm to 6pm. A celebration of her life and memorial services, led by Jeremy Folding to follow at 6pm.
Megan's presence will forever shine in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue to inspire us all. She will be missed dearly, her kind heart extended beyond her life, as she chose to be an organ donor, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
